Transient Osteoporosis
Transient osteoporosis of the hip can occur during pregnancy, although the incidence is fairly low. It is self-limiting and reversible.

- Poor collagen synthesis
Signs and Symptoms
- Progressive hip pain
- Referred to the lateral thigh
- Pain develops shortly before or during the last trimester
- Aggravated by weight bearing
- Pain subsides after delivery
- Radiograph appearance returns to normal within several months after delivery
PT Implications
